Today’s Daily Photo is a movie. Yesterday we took my soul sister Megan on a boat ride, and while returning home, we were advised to come into the Locks even though it looked like we weren’t going to fit. I had to wedge us between two powerboats, fiberglass pressed against fiberglass, all of us shifting our bumpers around so our boats weren’t grinding together.
While the water was rising, I caught the eye of one of the Lock operators and asked him whether boats were usually wedged in this way. He explained that we were meant to go through the space into the middle, but the powerboat skipper over here (and here he’s motioning surreptitiously and hilariously toward the guy to our port side), didn’t know his correct beam (boat width), and that’s why the math didn’t work. We should have had room, but we didn’t. Nevertheless, we managed to squeeze Lehua’s dainty little butt in to the back, and when I turned around, the doors were closing on the sunny day we were leaving behind, so I took a little movie.
